longest distance i have ever attempted. previous longest was 22km at AHM.
didn't run for 1month + prior to this due to my sprained ankle
finished it in 3hrs and 30 mins with the help of my tatical brain.

how bad can a friday get.
first i wake up thinking that it will be just like a typical friday. planned to pump at the gym at 2:30 with mac and marvin, then go home eat and teach swimming at aranda.
Then Adam called me at 12+ and asked me if i have packed everything for the malaysia trip.
WTF i thought it was on the following week on the 26th.
i called mac, and he also thought it was on the 26th. Luckily he is able to make it this week also. I cancelled the gym session and packed my bag.
I am totally broke after lending my brother some money, and until now i haven't collect my pay check. mother tay was at home and lent me some money.
then when i took some time out to change money at the money changer in compass point, he wanted to give me only 200 ringit with my $100. the rate stated on the board was 2.25. Fucked up. he thinks that i am in urgent need of changing to ringgit and want to hold me to ransom.
and what's worse is that because of this, i was late for teaching swimming by 10 minutes. it's my first time teaching this boy, and I am late. I told the mum to come 10 mins earlier next week to make up for it and she agreed.
Headed off to malaysia immediately after teaching swimming at aranda. Linked up with mac in hougang. not sure y adam didn't want to take bus 161 from hougang to woodlands. instead we took 72 to yio chu kang and then mrt to kranji. First time going to malaysia from kranji. but quite surprised many ppl take this malaysia bus from kranji to johor
The trip to malaysia wasn't anything great to talk about. but on the bus from johor to kl, the person in front of me lower the seat so low that i have no leg space. so pissed off that i nearly punched his head. i have to tap him on his shoulder to tell him to raise up his seat. later around 30 mins later, he tried to lower it again, i pushed him back immediately with my leg.
The cab in malaysia is ridiculously cheap compared to singapore.
entry is only $2 and 10cents for every 200metre. Bearing in mind that it is in ringit, this is less than half the price of singapore taxis
The kranji bus stopped at KL and took a cab to larkin and then a bus to kl. Reached KL at 5am and stopped by some shop houses to eat roti prata. We waited till 7am for the bus ticketing office to open, after which we booked our return ticket in advance.

first we wanted to stay in the zon, but we were unable to get a room with breakfast due to the indecisive manager.
so we went to stay in the traders hotel by shangri la. omg man IMO that hotel is world class. but $750 ringit for 1 night's stay is crazy, but adam insisted on staying there cos he liked the previous experience there. this totally blew my S$100 budget. did i mention that adam booked a suite instead of a standard or club room?
Upon reaching the room I am damn impressed.

sorry i am so sua gu. i didn't know that suites have a separate partition which is just like a living room.
later we went to lake garden to collect our number tag. It's located just a few minutes drive from the heart of the city.
omfg la there is a lake (obviously), running track, many play grounds, fitness corners, and i heard there is even the bird park encompasses inside. The greenery is damn nice too. WOW. it is damn amazing. east coast park doesn't even come close.

one of the many play grounds

i guess this is the lake

this park is this big

then we went to the skypool in the hotel

even the jacuzzi is world class
later mac and i went to visited the shopping centre behind the twin towers. i think it is called suria KLCC

quite big shopping centre. and just nice everywhere having sale. but can't find anything to buy except a shirt from topman.
however the burger king suck. whole patty of the grilled chicken burger chao ta.
came back and watch EPL till 1am, and that's all for saturday
the next day, we left the hotel at 5:15am for the run

no pictures of the run though. adam asked 1 of the photographer to take a photo of us together after the race. if he emails us the pic, i will post it up.
ok here it is

taken with my eyes closed :/
this 30km run is the worse that i have ever experience. there is no distance markings throughout the whole route. and the slope of the uphills and downhills is seriously no joke. the water points are only at every 5km. WTF.
Mac is my buddy for the race and we stick together throughout the whole race.
Adam finished 23rd in the veteran category. OMFG.
later he was damn insistent on taking a group photo, and buying his own photo taken at the end point.
despite being quite an eccentric guy, I can really feel his passion for running. now he is asking us to join the KL marathon. :S
We took a cab back to the hotel packed our stuff and left 12:30. I only reached home at 9pm. @.@
